Dr. Kari Schmidt has been with HealthSource since 2012 and is the proud owner of HealthSource of Chicago – Wicker Park and HealthSource of Downtown Mokena. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and German from Butler University and continued on to Logan University where she earned her Masters’ in Sports Rehabilitation and Science and a Doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine. She spends her free time traveling, spending time with her husband, and playing sports, but mostly spoiling her dog, Binkley, aka the Employee of the Month. Patient care is her top priority and she utilizes multiple techniques to treat each patient individually. “I want all of my patients to live a healthy and happy life, that’s my only goal!” She practices Diversified, Activator, ART, Logan Basic, SOT, and Drop Table Techniques. Dr. Kari originally became a chiropractor because she had daily headaches. She found out that her headaches was actually referral pain from her jaw, so she specializes in treating TMJ to help others live a headache free life.

Dr. Jill Aardema is a 2004 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic. In 2008, Dr. Aardema completed her post graduate work earning a Diplomate in Clinical Chiropractic Pediatrics (DICCP); a Board Certified credential for licensed doctors of chiropractic in the specialty of pediatrics and pregnancy. She ran a family wellness chiropractic office in Oak Park for 10 years, only leaving full time practice to care for her young family. She practices Diversified, Activator, Webster, SOT, and Drop Table Techniques. Dr. Aardema loves finding the reason why things don’t work the way they should. This makes her inquisitive mind a great addition to your wellness team. We are honored to have her at our clinic and she looks forward to meeting you!

Leah will be the first to make you smile–with her friendly greeting, willingness to help, and her great sense of humor. It is her joy to make an organized and lighthearted environment where you come for pain relief, physical rehab and wellness care. When Leah’s not busy supporting out patients our front desk, she is usually cooking, reading, hiking and enjoying the company of her husband and her two cats. Ask her about recent family vacations, or if she’s tried the newest local restaurants.

Originally from Wheaton, IL, Ashley studied exercise science and psychology in school, and she loves helping people discover the importance of it in their own lives, in a way that helps them feel well and notice the benefits. She continues her professional development accordingly, and supports the idea that, “It all starts in your mind. Conquer your mind and your body will follow.” Ashley views exercise as her own personal reward–from running marathons to weight lifting, she loves spending time exercising. She absolutely starts every day with coffee, and she’s always counting down to her next Florida getaway!

Terrie joined HealthSource in 2019, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology as well as a Master’s in Integrated Communications. In addition to studying the mind-body connection and medical science, she greatly enjoys: yoga, strength training, cooking, playing in Chicago’s parks, and relaxing on Michigan’s beaches with her family!

Binks started working at HealthSource with his mom, Dr. Kari, in 2016. He is an extra-smart Aussie Doodle with excellent manners. Sure, he’ll play in the Rehab Room, if you catch him bright and early. He has a special sense for patients in high pain, being able to provide them comfort if they like, by sitting quietly close beside them. If a patient is not a dog fan, Binkley intuitively takes a break in the back office.

Lucy joined HealthSource with her mom, Dr. Kari, bringing years of gentle wisdom and a calming presence to the office. At 13 years young, this sweet Cocker Spaniel may have a little sugar on her muzzle, but she still carries herself with grace and excellent manners. While she enjoys a slow stroll through the Rehab Room—especially earlier in the day—Lucy truly shines in her ability to sense when someone needs a little extra comfort. She has a special gift for patients experiencing higher levels of pain, often choosing to sit quietly beside them, offering calm companionship and steady reassurance. And if someone isn’t much of a dog person? Lucy respectfully understands and will happily retreat to the back office for a well-deserved rest. With her gentle spirit and intuitive heart, Lucy is a beloved member of the HealthSource family. 💕
