What Exercises to do to better function properly! With these exercises I find myself standing up as the exercises are teaching me to properly stand up!!-) same with picking things up. My cousin-in-law has a very serious stroke a few years ago. The hospital, and later the facility where she now lives, took her to a chiropractor for the last year and a half. They mostly worked on her neck (she’s in a wheelchair and unable to move on her own) and basically she has been in bed for several years. 50 years old. Her didn’t want to move, speak or eat. She has not made any progress for several years.
Last week we took her to Healthsourcechiro in Edina Mn.
She rarely responds even to those who love her and she loves.
First cost:
She could barely respond. I could see in her eyes that she was scared. By the end of her first visit she was attempting to do what the doctor was asking her to do. Barely but she was trying. The clinic had a bed that we could stand her up and it would lay her down. She responded remarkably, albeit very subtle movements.
Today, week 2….
She moved her arms when asked, she moved her knees when asked, she smiled and felt comfortable with the chiropractor. Her progress was a miracle for those of us that have watched her basically disappear. One week!!!! We have hope for the first time in so long.
She trusts this place which is SO important.
At the end of the session today the chiropractor asked her how she felt…
We waited… she worked hard… and then spoke the word “awesome”. Far to go still but it was a miracle for us. THEN, he asked her for a high five, she gave him 2 then put both hands up for a double high five.
After, the aide took her back to the van to return to her facility. Her daughter, my husband and I watched as they took a very different person away…. WE HAVE HOPE AND SO DOES SHE FINALLY.
This is a beautiful caring place that cares about ALL people. We’re grateful.
