Dr. Allison La Voie

Being born and raised in Rapid City, Dr. Allison La Voie is happy to be back in the Black Hills and living closer to family. She attended South Dakota State University for undergraduate college, where she graduated with multiple majors in Biology, Microbiology and Spanish.

After undergrad, she worked in healthcare as a certified nursing assistant, but became injured while working. After seeing a medical doctor, she decided to visit a local chiropractor, who was able to get her back to work quickly. She had always been to a chiropractor while growing up, but it wasn’t until after that experience she found that her calling was to become a chiropractor and help heal people with her hands.

She attended chiropractic college at the University of Western States in Portland, OR and graduated with honors during the middle of the Covid pandemic. While in school, she had the opportunity to complete an internship at a Spanish-speaking clinic and learned how to better treat patients with work injuries and injuries from car crashes. She hopes to continue to help the Spanish-speaking community in the area just as she did in Portland.

During her final quarter of chiropractic school, Dr. Allison was able to participate in a preceptorship with a great chiropractor in Rapid City, where she learned more about the business side of chiropractic, and how to become a more well-rounded chiropractor.

Immediately after graduating, Dr. Allison also became trained in a specialty of chiropractic called Chiropractic BioPhysics. This technique addresses posture and works to correct the alignment of the bones and the curves of the spine. She uses it to help get patients out of pain and help their bodies to heal and function better.
